BWIMA SHG is a grass root youth group that advocates for the eradication of Gender-based violence in two sub locations in Kakamega County, including Bwichina and Makhaya. Since 2010, BWIMA SHG has been creating awareness on issues through community dialogues that address school girl drop-out due to early marriages and pregnancies.
As a result of our advocacy efforts in these sub-locations, young women have completed their education and local leaders have adopted a new attitude towards early marriages and Gender-based violence. Some of them are now champions of girls access to education.
Advocacy Focus Areas
We believe in young generation empowerment for growth.
